Almena Yarnell

February 10, 1918 — September 8, 2008

Almena M. (Groff) Yarnell, 90, went to her heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior September 8, 2008 at 5:30 pm in the Wymomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center a resident for two years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Augustus G. Yarnell who passed away June 27, 2008. She was the last of her immediate family. She was born in Bainbridge, Lancaster County to Franklin P. and Mertie M. (Smith) Groff, February 10, 1918. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene M. (Yarnell) Wright, wife of Robert J. Wright, Jr. of Cumru Township and step grandson Todd J. Wright of Pottstown. In addition, she is survived by three nieces, three nephews and three sister in laws. Mrs. Yarnell was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale for 35 years. She was a beloved wife, homemaker and mother to her lovely daughter. She loved to play her organ and loved to work in her yard. She loved their two dogs, Luvy and Candi. She attended Bainbridge School and was raised in the Bainbridge Church of God and was baptized in the Church of God in Lancaster by Pator Benjamin Keckler who was pastor of the church at the time.
