Alyce A. Belles

Alyce A. Belles, 82, of Reading, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at 9:55 am in her residence. She was the wife of the late Walter Charles Belles who passed away October 2, 1998. Born in Reading on July 10, 1942, Mrs. Belles was the daughter of the late Louis S. and Jeanette S. (Brumbach) Apsokardu. She was a member of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church and was employed by Luden’s in Reading as a packer. Mrs. Belles is survived by her children Deborah A. Bohn wife of Daniel W. Bohn of Shillington; Susan M. Nye wife of William W. Nye of Muhlenberg Township; John E. Belles at home; Karen L. Barlet wife of Steven A. Barlet of West Lawn and her 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 2 uncles. Mrs. Belles was preceded in death by her children Walter Michael Belles, June 2, 2011 and Christine M. Flowers, February 26, 2020. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church 151 North 9th Street, Reading, Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00 am. Reverend Monsignor John J. Grabish, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church Wednesday from 9:30 am to 10:45 am.
