Ann Philomena Cushen

Ann Philomena (Considine) Cushen, 90, of Leesport, formerly of West Lawn and Tarrytown, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, at Berks Heim. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Cushen Sr., with whom she shared 48 wonderful years of marriage until his passing on June 16, 2010.

Born in County Clare, Ireland, Philomena was the daughter of the late Joseph Considine and Mary Ellen (McMahon). She spent her career as an Property Manager for Mayerhauser Realty and was admired for her dedication and kindness. Philomena was also a proud member of the Pioneer Total Abstinence Association of the Sacred Heart, living out her faith through a lifelong commitment to temperance.

She is survived by her children: Mary Ellen Nussbeutel, wife of John, of Sinking Spring, and Michael Joseph Cushen Jr., of Yorktown Heights, NY. She was a cherished grandmother to Ellen Nyarady, wife of Ryan; James Connelly, husband of Sonia; and Liam Cushen. Her joy extended to her great-grandchildren: Michael, Josie, Brendan, Kevin, Amelia, and Olivia.

Philomena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her beloved daughter, Bridget C. Connelly, wife of Kevin. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Patrick, Bernard, Michael, Vincent, Mary Kate, Theresa Neylon, Bridget, and Chrissy Curtin.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at The Church of the Transfiguration, 268 S. Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591, Visitation will be held from 9:15 AM to 9:45 AM . Entombment will follow at Rose Hills Memorial Park.
