Anthony Nitti

September 19, 1942 — December 15, 2008

Anthony J.V. Nitti, 66, of Robeson Twp., a true gentleman, passed away on Monday, December 15th at 1:41 a.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient for 188 days.

Born in Worcester, MA, he was the son of the late Anthony C. Nitti and Flora A. (Bourassa) Nitti, and husband of Jane (Mitchell) Nitti.

He was a 1961 graduate of Auburn High School, and in 1966 received his Bachelors of Arts in Education from Fitchburg Univ. He also attended Massachusetts Military Academy.

He was a US Army veteran, serving during peacetime and wartime; he was a member and 33rd degree Mason of Isaac Hiester Lodge No. 660 F & A.M., West Reading.

He was a Self Employed Business Consultant as A.J. Victor Nitti & Associated Inc. for more than 30 years.

He was an avid sportsman. He loved to fly fish, and created his own fly rods and flies. He was a hunter and trap shooter, and loved horseback riding. He belonged to various Gun Clubs in the area, including the Mohnton Rod & Gun Club. He also raised and showed Brittany Spaniels in field trials.

He enjoyed sports, and was a Tiger Woods fan. He loved to watch the US Army and Patriots in Football, and the Red Sox in baseball.

He enjoyed spending time with friends at Trooper Thorne's. He was also a member of Clover Park, the Reading Country Club, and the Young Republicans club.

He was a Celtic enthusiast, and the Grand Marshall of the Chesapeke Bay St. Patrck's day parade for the past nine years.

He was a voracious reader, and was also working on his first novel. He was a Woodrow Wilson Scholar.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Kimberley S. (Nitti) Peiffer, wife of Jeffrey L. Peiffer of Robeson Twp.

There is also a grandson: Mitchell-Boulden Bryce Peiffer, whom Mr. Nitti was teaching how to be a man of honor, and a gentleman.

He is also survived by brothers: James J. Nitti, husband of Ann, and Richard R. Nitti, husband of Jacqueline, all of MASS; an aunt: Anita (Bourassa), wife of Harold Tower of Mass.; and brother in laws: William A. Mitchell, husband of Linda of Minnesota, Thomas F. Mitchell, husband of Jennifer, and sister in law: Catherine J. Chouinard, wife of Michael, all of Mass.

There are also eleven nephews, three nieces, and twenty two grand nieces and nephews, and many loving cousins.
