Barry Leroy Stoudt, Sr., 74, of Myerstown, passed away Saturday September 11, 2021 at 7:03 am in Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Arlene D. (Manmiller) Stoudt. Born in West Reading, Mr. Stoudt was the son of Mildred May (Bergman) Stoudt and the late Heister Leroy Stoudt. He was a 1965 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School and was an automotive technician at L&B Dodge in Robesonia for 41 years until his retirement. In addition to his wife, Mr. Stoudt is survived by his children Kim Arlene Wagner, wife of William Paul Wagner of Temple; Barry Leroy Stoudt, Jr., husband of Audrey E. Stoudt of Myerstown; his grandchildren Keith, Sarah, Elysia, Kasandra and great grandchildren Jason and Sophia.
Barry was involved with Myerstown Midget Football for 25 years, announcing games. He also was involved with racing all throughout his life, starting young by working on cars at the Reading Fairgrounds, ran in a few destruction derby’s and eventually co-owned a Street Stock car with his wife, which his son ran at Penn National Speedway, Big Diamond and Susquehanna Raceway. He attended many Nascar races as well and enjoyed traveling to many Nascar tracks with friends. He enjoyed attending World War II weekends at Mid-Atlantic Air Museum every year. He was a true family man and enjoyed vacations each year, going to the beach with his family and friends.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Reading Fairgrounds Racing Historical Society, www.readingfairgroundsracing.com or Wounded Warriors Project PO Box 758516 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516. Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring is in charge of arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held in June 2022.
