Betty J. Colmery

Betty J. Colmery, 99, a resident of Columbia Cottage in Wyomissing, and formerly of Flying Hills, died January 27, 2026, at Tower Health – Reading Hospital, West Reading.

She was the widow of Raynor M. Colmery who died in 2005 and with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.

Born October 20, 1926, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late William L. Beeler and Helen F. Beeler.

Betty was a graduate of the class of 1944 of Haverford High School and of Hahnemann Medical Technical School in 1946. She attended Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

Betty was a housewife who loved to watch cooking shows and following her favorite teams -- the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Carol A. Current, partner of Douglas M. Gruver, of Wyomissing, PA, three grandchildren, Wendy J. Gangwer, wife of Dave Gangwer, of Mohrsville, PA, Robert Raynor Colmery, husband of Emelie Colmery, of Huntersville, NC, and Anne Elizabeth Cicero, wife of David Cicero, of Prosper, TX, and seven great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Colmery of Nellysford, VA. Betty’s son, William Raynor Colmery, predeceased her in 2007.
