Carmella Santoni

Carmella (Cagnetti) Santoni, 89, of Temple, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at Berks Heim Nursing Home. She was the loving wife to Dante Santoni Sr. for over 68 years of marriage. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, Carmella was the daughter of the late Gabrielle and Maddalena (Gabbipini) Cagnetti. Carmella was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and later went on to work at Lucent Technologies for over 20 years before her retirement in 2000. Carmella and Dante were owners of Santoni’s Mushrooms for over 25 years.

In addition to her husband Dante, Carmella is survived by her children, Madalyn R. Stauffer, wife of Robert, of Pottstown, Dante Santoni Jr. husband of Sharon, of Wyomissing, Daneane M. Zeller, of Shillington, her grandchildren, Alexandria Zeller, Derek Zeller, Emma Santoni, Lia Santoni, her great grandchildren, Alexander Avilia-Zeller, Luna Avilia-Zeller, Zane Zeller, and her sisters, Louise Durinzi, and Mary Fitzgerald.

Carmella is predeceased by her sister, Sarah Ahrens.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, 3121 Kutztown Road, Reading, on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 11:00 AM. Entombment to follow in Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, on Monday, from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM.
