Carol Ann Freed

Carol Ann Freed, 79, of Wyomissing, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Mifflin Center. She was the wife of the late George H. Freed who passed away February 26, 2011. Born in Reading, Mrs. Freed was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Smith) Wawrzyniak. She was a graduate of Saint Peter’s High School and Reading Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Freed was a Registered Nurse at the Reading Hospital for 43 years until her retirement and was the Head Nurse of a plastic surgery team and remembered by many as a great teacher and very dedicated to her profession. Mrs. Freed is survived by her sons Daniel P. Freed husband of Dr. Anne M. Larrabee-Freed of Wyomissing; David H. Freed husband of Kim Freed of Oley; grandson Christopher D. Freed; step-grandchildren Raquel Rohrbach and Vicktor Rohrbach; one great grandchild Aidan Freed; siblings Christine Gumeniski wife of Joseph Gumeniski of Birdsboro; Peter Wawrzyniak husband of Rhonda Wawrzyniak of Mohnton; Joseph Wawrzyniak of Long Neck, Delaware. She was an amazing mother that worked tirelessly to provide for her family. She always cared, and she always gave great and sound advice. 

Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 6:00 pm. Amy S. Landis, Celebrant. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Homes & Cremation Services Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
