Catherine L. Brown, 92, of Muhlenberg Park, passed away September 5, 2008 at 12:10 p.m. at home.
Born in Exeter Twp., she was the daughter of the late Leon S. and Nora E. (Seidel) Bortz, and wife of the late Warren L. Brown, who passed away August 22, 1998. She worked as a school cafeteria manager for C.E. Cole Middle School in Muhlenberg School District for 26 1/2 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of Grace Alsace U.C.C. Church in Reading, and worked at many candy sales at the Church, famous for Catherine's Peanut Clusters. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the Goodwill Beneficial Assoc., and volunteered at events at the Reading Hospital. She also was a member of the Card Club that met at O'Grady's Restaurant. She is survived by her son: Roanld W. Brown of King of Prussia; grandchildren: Jeff, Tim, and Lisa Brown, and Jennifer (Brown), wife of Thomas Yacavino; great grandchildren: Ashleigh, Faith, Caitlyn, Zachary, Rachael, Jenna, Kelly, Alexis, Anna, Timmy, and Hailey. She was predeceased by a sister Helen and a brother John. Services and interment at Laureldale Cemetery will be private at the convenience of the family.
