Catherine E. “Kitty” Fehr, 91, a longtime resident of Arbor Gate Community in Myerstown, passed away peacefully in the company of her family on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at 10:30 am at Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late William G. “Bunk” Fehr who passed away June 16, 2019 after 63 years of marriage. Born in Reading, Mrs. Fehr was the daughter of the late Robert B. Richards and Mary (Swartz) Richards Mogel and step-daughter of the late Lester Mogel. She attended the Reading School District in her youth and graduated in 1951. Mrs. Fehr was employed by Met Life for a number of years and then was employed by the Bachman Company from 1980 until her retirement in 1992. She was a member of the former Grace Alsace United Church of Christ. Mrs. Fehr is survived by her son Brian R. Fehr husband of Kimberly A. Fehr of Robesonia; her grandchildren Michael Fehr husband of Nicole Fehr and Katie Fehr and her great grandchildren Adalyn and Jameson. She is also survived by her brother Robert S. Richards of Reading; her 2 nieces and 2 nephews and was preceded in death by her sister Jeanette Showalter.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Monday, July 7, 2025 at 11:00 am. Reverend Kerry L. Hicks will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Monday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital at lovetotherescue.org. in memory of Mrs. Catherine E. Fehr. Online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com
