Christian Whalen

Christian W. "Pop" Whalen, 95, of Birdsboro, passed away on Thursday, February 12th, at 7:25 p.m. at Golden Living Center, Exeter Twp., where he had been a patient for eight months.

Born in North Heidelberg Twp., he was the son of the late Theresa Whalen, and widower of Mary A. Whelan, who passed away on November 30, 2003.

He worked as a truck driver for York Motor Express for eight years, retiring in 1958.

He was a member of St. Catharine of Sienna, R.C.C..

He is survived by a daughter: Patricia M. (Whalen) Harrell, wife of Dewitt Harrell of Birdsboro.

There are also 17 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and 7 great great grandchildren.

In addition to his mother, he is also pre deceased by daughters: Eleanor (Whalen) Kazmierczak in 1956, Barbara (Whalen) Kohl in 1968; a son: William Whalen in 2000; and a sister: Katherine, widow of Zelius De Long of Sinking Spring.
