Exeter Township

Constance “Connie” Lorraine (Slaney) Luccarella, 67, of Exeter passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Reading Hospital.  Born in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Janet (Whilden) and Paul Slaney.  Connie grew up in Heislerville, NJ and moved with her family to Phoenix, AZ where she graduated from Alhambra High School.  After graduating she moved back home to New Jersey and started working at Wheaton Glass.  This is where she met the love of her life, John R. Luccarella.  Connie and John were married and spent 41 years together.  The couple moved to Exeter to start a family.  Connie worked at Boscov’s in the Receiving Department for 14 years before retiring in 2014.  She was a member of the Arbor Day Foundation and enjoyed planting the saplings.  Connie loved her plants and flowers.  She was very knowledgeable about their care and names.  She also enjoyed antiques.  Connie’s favorite holiday was Christmas.  Connie and John liked going out to dinner and trying new places.  Connie was quiet and reserved but that didn’t stop her from being loved by all.

In addition to her husband, John, Connie is survived by her children, Nicholas J. Luccarella, of Lancaster and April M. McHugh, of Exeter.  Also surviving are her grandchildren, Emma, Thea, Odin, and Rocky and her brother, Keith Slaney, of Georgia.  Connie is preceded in death by her brother, Paul Slaney.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Bean Funeral Homes, Exeter Township is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
