David P. Eckroth, 83, of West Lawn, passed away peacefully in his residence on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Jean L. Eckroth (Allison). Born in. Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Harold A. and Cleota F. (Stiner) Eckroth. David was a graduate of Central Columbia High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964, serving on board the USS English (DD-696). David was a State Police Officer for the Pennsylvania State Police Ephrata and Milton Barracks. He enjoyed fishing, bird watching, gardening and hunting. David was also a member of the Mountain View Hunting Camp. He is survived by his wife, Jean L. Eckroth, of West Lawn; children, Benjamin D. Eckroth, husband of Donna Eckroth, of Bloomsburg; Steven A. Eckroth, husband of Leilani Eckroth, of Columbia, South Carolina; Bradley R. Eckroth, husband of Kimberly Eckroth, of Woodbine, Maryland; step-children, Michele L. Gopinath, wife of Shine Gopinath, of Harrisburg, PA; Michael L. Bell, husband of Regina Bell, of Reading, PA; Melanie L. Meakin, wife of Matthew Meakin, of Littlestown, PA; two grandchildren, Seth Eckroth and Lane Eckroth; 7 step grandchildren, Jacob Meakin, Joseph Bell, Timothy Bell, Benjamin Bell, Christopher Meakin, Arun Gopinath, Meera Gopinath; and siblings, Shirley Remus, Liam Eckroth, Mark Eckroth, Julia Nogle, Cynthia Eckroth, Lucy Eckroth, and Mary Dean. David was predeceased by his sister, Laura Yates and brother, Theodore Eckroth, A Memorial Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc. 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, PA 19608 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 11:30am.
