David Smith

David U. Smith, 79, of Bern Township, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:13 pm in his residence.  He was the husband of Marica J. (Miraszewski) Smith married for 58 years. Born in Reading, Mr. Smith was the son of the late Henry C. and Josephine (Hine) Smith.  He was a maintenance mechanic for various heating & air conditioning companies in the Reading area then was a maintenance mechanic for the Wilson School District for 20 years until his retirement. He will be greatly missed by all family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, baseball and the outdoors.  In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by his son Craig D. Smith, husband of April L. Smith of Flying Hills; his daughter Kelly L. Moore of Wyomissing, 4 grandchildren, Amber (Steve) Hettinger; Kyle (Denise) Smith; Jenna Hart; Tiffany (Tyler) Smith and 7 great grandchildren with a great grandchild expected in the near future along with brothers Joseph (Naomi) and Raymond (Mary).   He was preceded in death by his great grandson Joshua Peek and brothers, Henry and Harry and sister Christine Tablone.
