Deborah L. Kurtz, 62, of Mohnton, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Reading Hospital after a brave battle against Leukemia. She was the beloved wife of Steven R. Kurtz whom shared 39 wonderful years of marriage together. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Richard J. Mull and Dolores G. (Strause).

Deborah was a 1976 graduate of Reading High School. During her life, she was a Customer Service Manager at Safety Headquarters for 25 years and United Document for 12 years until 2018.

Deborah enjoyed the beach, gardening, camping and was the best fisherman in the family. She was an avid bird feeder and loved shopping.

Known as the matriarch of the family, Deb was a loving mother and wife who loved all living things, strived for inner peace and believed that positivity would bring love, peace, joy and hope to the world and her light will truly be missed.

In addition to her husband Steven, she is survived by her daughter Carolyn R. Kurtz, of Mohnton; granddaughter, Reina M. Rivera; brother, John Mull, husband of Monica, of Exeter Township; sister, Elizabeth Lischak, wife of Pete, of Reading; brother, Michael Mull, of Shillington; brother, Steven Mull, husband of Margie, of Shillington; and several nieces and nephews. Deborah was predeceased by her siblings James Mull, Barbara Mull and Cindy Mull.

Celebration of Life Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 E. Lancaster Ave. Shillington, PA 19607 on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:00am. Certified Celebrant, Amy S. Landis will officiate. Interment will follow at Heidelberg Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 10:00am-11:00am at the funeral home.
