Dennis A. Bricker, 74, of Heidelberg Township, passed away Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 5:04 pm at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. He was the husband of Georgene (Mathewson) Bricker. Mr. Bricker was a member of the former Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, Reading and was a graduate of Reading High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Bricker was employed by Santander Bank in the Lost Mitigation Department until his retirement. He later was employed by the Lebanon Valley School District and the Conrad Weiser School District as a part time bus driver. Both he and Mrs. Bricker served as volunteers for the Blue Mountain/Reading Railroad where Mr. Bricker began as a car host then brakeman and graduated to conductor. He was an avid train enthusiast watching and chasing 2102 and 425 Steam Engines. Mr. Bricker enjoyed traveling to Tennessee, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and Cades Coves. He was an avid fan of the Charlie Daniels Band and enjoyed listening to Jimmy Buffet and the Beatles. In addition to his wife Mr. Bricker is survived by his cousin Judith Bieber of Spring Township; niece Julie Brown wife of Zach Brown of Wyomissing Hills; nephew Michael Umbenhauer husband of Lisa Umbenhauer of Lower Heidelberg Township and his great nephews Jakob Brown and Alex Umbenhauer.
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Wednesday June 21, 2023 at 1:00 pm. Reverend Robert Argot will officiate. Interment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 217, Topton at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
