Dennis L. Miller

Dennis L. "Max" Miller passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 26, at Chestnut Knoll, just up the street from where he was born in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. He was 84 years old and the son of the late Earl and Mabel (Wolfe) Miller. Dennis was given the nickname "Max" because of his shock of red hair, which resembled "Little Max" from the Joe Palooka comic strip, popular in the 1940s.

After high school, Dennis was often seen around town riding his Indian Chief motorcycle. In 1960, he joined the U.S. Army and proudly served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Throughout his life, he never forgot the tropical jungle heat of Panama, where he trained. Following his honorable discharge, Dennis worked on the production floor at Dana in Pottstown for 34 years before enjoying 20 years of well-earned retirement.

Dennis was the devoted husband of the late Helen (Shaner) Miller of Boyertown. They shared 37 years of marriage and were the proud parents of four children. He is survived by his son, Scott, of North Carolina; his daughter, Shelly Price (James), of Florida; and his daughter, Donna Johnson (Dave), of Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by two children, Lisa and Vince (Tracy).

Dennis and Helen were blessed with 13 grandchildren. While they cherished each of them deeply, they shared an especially close bond with Dana and Dotae, whom they lovingly nurtured and raised.

Dennis will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and the many memories he leaves behind. His love and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
