Donald Ralph Stump passed away on June 10, 2026 at Reading Hospital.
Born in West Reading in 1950, Donald proudly served in Vietnam with the Army Airborne from 1968–1970. He was instrumental in establishing the Vietnam War Memorial at City Park in Reading.
Beloved “Cook” to thousands of children at Camp Adahi for over 20 years, Donald was a mentor, a good-natured teacher, and, by his own admission, a tormenter. His food and kitchen cleanliness were legendary.
To his grandchildren, Alex and Jasmin, he was “Grandpa” and “Peeps”. But to both, he was the same steadying, guiding light. Tough, but deeply loving.
Donald will be very much missed by his daughter Melissa and daughter-in-law Helen. His worldly experience, sense of humor, and ability to self-deprecate will leave a void that cannot be filled.
