Dorel Bancos, 57, of Sinking Spring, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at The Reading Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband to Argentina (Alexandru) Bancos for over 35 years of marriage. Born in Arinis, Romania, Dorel was the son of the late Traian Bancos, and Luiza (Bob) Bancos. Dorel graduated from Mihai Eminescu, High School, in Baia Mare, Romania and went on to achieve his PhD in History, from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi, Romania. Dorel worked as a social worker for Concern Professional Services for over 22 years.
Dorel took a leap of faith in coming to America at the age of 28. He dove into the unknown, learned a new language, and made a new home for him and his family. His perseverance, hard work and determination made achieving his American dream possible. Dorel was a loving husband, father, and a dear friend. He was a caring, considerate, humble, and kind man. Dorel made it his personal mission to help others with utmost dedication and altruism. But most of all, Dorel loved God and strove immensely to become as close to Him as possible.
In addition to his wife Argentina, Dorel, is survived by his children, Claudiu D. Bancos, husband of Celeste, of Reading, Iulia D. Bancos, of Philadelphia, his grandchildren, Luke, Nathan, Daniel, as well as his siblings, Vasile Bancos, Lotica Bancos, Radu Bancos, Nicolae Bancos, and Dana Badea.
Funeral service for Dorel will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring. Interment to follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and guests in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Wednesday, May 15 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, May 16, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
