Dorothy Stephens

Dorothy H. Stephens, 94, of Muhlenberg Township, formerly of Coral Springs, Florida, passed away August 29, 2008 at 11:30 pm in the Reading Hospital a patient for 1 1/2 weeks. She was the wife of the late William L. Stephens, Jr. who passed away April 7, 1977. Born in Reading she was the daughter of the late Clayton B. and Matilda (Brown) Hoffmaster. Mrs. Stephens was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School and was employed by Bell Labs as an inspector. She was a former member of Alsace Lutheran Church, a member of the telephone pioneers and an avid sports fan. She is survived by her daughters, Carol S.(Stephens) wife of Rudy A. Drobnick, Sr. with whom she last resided; Christine S.Tina(Stephens) wife of Mark A. Greco of Hillsborough, NJ; Sandra L. (Stephens) wife of Donald J. Veckerelli of Larchmont, NY; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Russell and Chester Hoffmaster and sisters, Susan(Hoffmaster) Powell and Sara(Hoffmaster)Reinsel.
