Dr. Frances Kay Vickery-Munshower

Dr. Frances Kay Vickery-Munshower, 83, of Shillington passed peacefully in her residence on Sunday, May 10, 2026. She was the wife of the late John W. Munshower, who passed away in September of 1995. Born in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Charles E. and JennaV (Giles) Vickery. She received a B.S in elementary education; and MS in Human Learning & Behavior Modification and her Ph.D. In Measurement Statistics and Advance Research Design, all from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, ILL. During her life, she worked as a Psychologist for Wernersville State Hospital for 25 years until retiring in 2005.

Dr. Vickery was a member of the American Psychological Association, the Berks Area Psychological Association, and a Standing Member of the PA Psychological Association. She was a parishioner of St. Ignatius Loyola Church, in Sinking Spring.

She is survived by her daughter Laurie K. Gerges, widow of Robyn J. Gerges, of Shillington; grandchildren, Robyn E. Gerges, of Richland, PA; Jenna M. Gerges, of Plains, PA; great-granddaughter, Vivian Davis; brothers, William Vickery, husband of Jeanne, of Richmond, VA and Geoffrey Vickery, husband of Paulie, of Mount Washington, KY.

A Mass of Christian will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Church 2600 St. Albans Drive Reading, PA 19609 on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00am. Inurnment will follow at Wyomissing Cemetery in Gouglersville. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:15am-11:00am.
