Elizabeth A. "Shirley" Forlini

Elizabeth A. “Shirley” Forlini, 99, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday June 9, 2026 at 4:07 am in the residence of her daughter Debra L. Hart of Exeter Township. She was the wife of the late John J. Forlini who passed away April 3, 2006. Born in Reading, Mrs. Forlini was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Laura J. (Schelley) Breen. She was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Reading. Mrs. Forlini is survived by her children Peter J. Forlini husband of Cynthia Forlini of Florida; Patricia A. Barrell wife of Glenn G. Barrell of Bernville; Debra L. Hart wife of Russel A. Hart with whom she last resided, and her 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Forlini was preceded in death by her son John M. Forlini husband of Christine Forlini who passed away December 28, 2024 and her siblings Thomas H. Breen, James Breen, John “Jack” Breen, Margaret Stengel, Ruth Scheidegger, Ethel L. Breen, Mary Mull. Better known to everyone who loved her as Nanny or Shirley, she was most happy when she was with her family, especially her children and beloved grandchildren. She always chose to see the best in everyone, and it was rare when she wasn’t smiling or laughing.

Prayer Service will be held at the Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery 3139 Kutztown Road, Laureldale, Monday June 22, 2026 at 10:00 am. Reverend Monsignor John J. Grabish will officiate. Entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society PO Box 6704, Hagerstown, Maryland 21741 in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Forlini.
