Elizabeth C. Kunkleman

Elizabeth C. Kunkleman, 97, of Spring Township, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. She was preceded in death by her first husband Norman S. Carles, January 30, 2015 and by her second husband Brooke A. Kunkleman, September 8, 1994. Born in Tulpehocken Township, Mrs. Kunkleman was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Amy E. (Wilhelm) Eiler. She was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church and was employed by Berks County Home-Berks Heim as a Nursing Assistant for 15 years until her retirement in 1993. Mrs. Kunkleman was a Master Bridge Player and an avid Phillies fan. She is survived by her sons George E. Carles husband of Debra M. of Bernville and Amandon J. Carles husband of Karen of Leesport; daughters Amy R. wife of Kenneth A. Noecker of Bernville and Mary C. wife of Craig A. Day of Reinholds. Also loved by her 8 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Mrs. Kunkleman is also survived by her sister Sara A. wife of the late Joseph Kress of Lancaster and was preceded in death by her siblings Mary L. Peiffer, William E. Eiler, John W. Eiler and her foster sister Shirley Bashore.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2600 St. Alban’s Drive, Sinking Spring, Monday, November 24, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Host Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church Monday from 11:00 am to 11:45 am. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Arthritis Foundation PO Box 96280, Washington, DC 20077 in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth C. Kunkleman.
