Elizabeth L. Wertz

Elizabeth L. Wertz (Kauffman) 97, of Leesport, formerly of Shillington, passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Berks Heim Nursing Home. Born in Reading, Elizabeth was the daughter of the late Ray Kauffman and Blanche (Vanpelt). Elizabeth worked as a Examiner for Narrow Fabric for 23 years and for Berkshire Knitting Mills for over 28 years before her retirement in 1991.

Elizabeth is survived by her sons, Robert J. Wertz Jr., husband of Donna, of Bernville and Thomas J. Wertz, husband of Kathy, of New Holland. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth is predeceased by her siblings, Donald Kauffman, Dorothy Schollenberger, and Jane Daubert.

Funeral service for Elizabeth will be held in Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, PA 19607, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Internment will follow in St. Johns Cemetery, Gibraltar. Amy Landis, Certified Celebrant to officiate.
