Ellamay Stufflet

September 20, 1924 — August 6, 2021

Exeter Township,PA

Ellamay W. Stufflet (Wells), 96, of Exeter Township, entered the gates of heaven while surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 6, 2021. She was the beloved wife of Clarence E. Stufflet Jr., who passed away on March 18, 2011. Ellamay and Clarence were married on January 11, 1943 and shared 68 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she was the beloved daughter of Arthur J. and May (Felpel) Wells.  She was a graduate of Reading High School, Class of 1941. Ellamay was a dedicated student, she was a member of the National Junior Honor Society and during High School had perfect attendance. During her life she held many secretarial positions in education and human services. She was a gifted writer and avid reader.

Ellamay had a life long love for hot dogs which may have started when she worked at Schells in 1969.  Her favorite meal was Goulash, and she enjoyed her treats like homemade chocolate cake and Pop’s tapioca pudding. Elly liked  engaging with her families pets, but was especially fond of cats.  She had many stories to tell about spoiling her 4 black cats, Charlie, Smoochie, Dozzleberry and Boots and liked to reminisce about all their misbehaving. She was happiest when she had a book in her hand and a cat on her lap, but what was most important to Elly was her faith.  She never wavered in her devotion to God, or reading her bible and praying for all those she loved.

Mrs. Stufflet is survived by her daughters, Carol M. Engle, of Exeter Township; Elaine L. Eshbach-Jarvis, wife of Michael Jarvis, of Lancaster; Rebecca A.
