Elwood B. "Woody" Groh

Elwood B. “Woody” Groh, 72, of Birdsboro, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Judy L. (Jaworski) Groh, of Birdsboro. Together they shared 50 years of marriage. 
Born on September 27, 1950, in Reading, he was the son of the late Jay Oscar and Erma I. (Bernhart) Groh. During his life, he was an Electrician for IBEW Local 743, until retiring in 2006. Woody was known as an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bird watching and was a cigar aficionado.  Woody absolutely loved his grandchildren and all his dogs he had throughout his life. 
Woody is survived by his wife Judy L. Groh, of Birdsboro; his children, Cara L. Kasapidis, spouse of Spiro, of Shillington; Jesse D. Groh, spouse of Mandi, of Oley; Rachel L. Heffner, spouse of Chad, of Birdsboro; Rebekah L. Groh, of Birdsboro; grandchildren, Madilynne, Gavin, Ashton, Helena, Gracie, Max, Elly, Lee, Lucy; brother, Thomas Groh, spouse of Phyllis of Reading; sisters, Elsie Brown, of York, Maine; and Louise Feger, widow of Robert, of Hamburg. 
He was predeceased by his brothers, Emerson, Edward, and Jay William. 
Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Homes 6 Fairlane Road Reading, PA 19606 on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at 11:00am. Pastor David Gundrum will officiate. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home from 10:00am-11:00am. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
