Erma A. Evans, 89, formerly of Laureldale, passed away January 22, 2009 in Lehigh Valley Hospital where she was a patient for 1 day. Mrs. Evans resided at Country Meadows of Allentown since January 18, 2005. She was the wife of Edward L. Evans who passed away October 22, 1970. Born in Reading on August 15, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Kemp) Mengel.
She was employed at David Crystal in Reading for a number of years. Mrs. Evans is survived by a son Craig E. Evans and a daughter in law Lois E. Henseler of Allentown, 2 granddaughters Amber H. (Evans) Smith and Sara L. Evans, 2 step granddaughters Meredith and Allison Albright and 2 great grandchildren Saige and Farrah Smith. She was predeceased by 2 sisters Florence Mengel and Verna (Mengel) Fessler and 2 brothers Paul and Harvey Mengel.
