Evelyn M. Bush

Evelyn M. Bush, 102, of Cumru Township, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 in her residence.  She was the wife of the late Walter Bush, Jr. who passed away September 1978.  Born in Reading, Mrs. Bush was the daughter of the late Andrew and Carrie (Fricker) Weiherer. She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1938. She was a member of Nativity Lutheran Church in Reading and was a secretary at Nolde & Horst and then an executive secretary at the YWCA in Reading.  Mrs. Bush is survived by her children Marilyn J. Zinn of Shillington and James D. Bush of Cumru Township.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Zinn, Heather Bean, Kristin Eubanks and her great grandchildren Michael, Zachary, Molly, Max, Samantha, and Nicholas.

She was the beloved mom, grandmom, nana to her family with whom she shared her passion for books, movies, crossword puzzles, Yahtzee and especially annual trips to the N.J. beaches. Evelyn devoted her life to charity through membership and leadership in Oriental Shrine, Amaranth, and Eastern Star, raising money for the Shriner’s Hospital in Philadelphia and the Diabetes Foundation.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 11:00 am.  Reverend Carol B. Kehler will officiate.  Interment will follow at Laureldale Cemetery.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Nativity Lutheran Church 1501 North 13^th Street, Reading, PA 19604 in memory of Mrs. Evelyn M.
