Fern A. Aulenbach

Fern A. Aulenbach, 93, formerly of Reading, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at 8:05 pm at Berks Heim.  She was the wife of John W. Aulenbach, Sr.  Born in Amityville, Mrs. Aulenbach was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Edna E. (Buchert) Angstadt.  She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Reading and was a candy packer for Zipf’s Candy Company in Reading from 1984-1989 and then for King Kup-Schoener Candy  Company in Reading for 27 years.  In addition to her husband Mrs. Aulenbach is survived by her daughter Susan L. Schweitzer wife of Kenneth Schweitzer of Reading and her granddaughter Lynn A. Sell of Mohnton and her great grandsons Darren P. Sell and Austin M. Sell.  Also surviving is her sister Virginia E. Souders of York.  Mrs. Aulenbach was preceded in death by her son John W. Aulenbach, Jr. and her siblings Daniel A. Angstadt, Floyd A. Angstadt, Charles C. Angstadt, Lille M. Herb, Ethel M. Focht.   

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm.   Reverend Bruce Osterhout will officiate.   Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.  The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Thursday from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.   In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County 58 Kennel Road, Birdsboro, PA 19508 in memory of Mrs. Fern A.
