Frances C. Korner, 88, beloved and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on the morning of August 26 at the Highlands of Wyomissing, where she lived.
She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, the daughter of the late William and Alexandrina (Holmes) Colquhoun. She is survived by her husband, Homer Korner of Wyomissing, her daughter, Dr. Carole Korner Roberts of Lower Heidelberg Twp., her son, William Korner of Alpharetta, GA, and 6 grandchildren, William Korner Jr., Jennifer Fisher, Douglas Roberts, David Roberts, Shauna Korner, and Haley Korner.
She graduated from Evander Childs High School in New York City in 1937 and from business school thereafter. She worked as a trust officer for the Guaranty Trust Company and later in the family business, H.C. Korner Company of Reading, for 30 years.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Reading.
Services will be private, interment in the Charles Evans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 397 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
