Francis (Fran) Charles Leskowicz, age 66, passed away suddenly from heart-related complications on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at his home in Exeter Township, PA. Fran was born in Norristown, PA to Charles and Mary Leskowicz.
He was the youngest of three siblings and graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in Norristown, PA. After high school, Fran went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree from West Chester University in Education, and started his career as a Social Studies teacher at Delaware Valley High School in Milford, PA. He then went on to achieve his Master’s degree in Secondary Administration from Scranton University.
He took on roles as Assistant Principal at Daniel Boone High School, and later, Principal at Antietam Middle Senior High School. While Fran was working for Antietam, he was also involved in the local running community. It was there he met the love of his life, Suzette. Suzette encouraged Fran to complete his dream of competing in the Boston Marathon. He would go on to marry Suzette (Garvin) Leskowicz in 1992, and settle in Exeter Township. Together, they had two children: Nicole and Daniel. After starting a family with Suzette, Fran would complete his Doctorate in Education from Widener University, and become Assistant Superintendent of Upper Perkiomen School District in Pennsburg, PA. During his time at Upper Perkiomen, Fran was Chair of the Board for the Upper Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce. He retired in 2014 as Acting Superintendent, earning the Distinguished Service Recognition Award.
Fran was a family man who enjoyed attending his children’s sporting events and activities, and doted on two West Highland White Terriers: Sprinkles and Pixie, and one Scottish Terrier: Duffy. He was a parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena, and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight. He is survived by his wife, Suzette Leskowicz, and two children, Nicole and Daniel. He is also survived by two sisters Rosemary Thompson (Karl), and Elaine Cordes (James). Francis was known for his generous heart and devotion to his loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Catherine of Siena Church 4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, Thursday March 31, 2022 at 11:30 am. Reverend Monsignor Edward R. Domin Celebrant.
