Gertrude C. Martin

Gertrude C. Martin, 94, formerly of Reading, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at 12:00 am at the Highlands at Wyomissing Skilled Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late Robert S. Martin who passed away July 18, 2005. Gertrude was born in Camden, New Jersey, the youngest daughter of the late Gerhard A. and Ragnhild E. (Nordstrom) Hedenberg. She was a longstanding member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir there for many years. Gertrude was a devoted Wife and Mother and enjoyed world travel, music, as well as cooking and baking for her family.

Mrs. Martin is survived by her children Sharon L. Santoni wife of Dante Santoni, Jr. of Wyomissing; Scott D. Martin husband of Deborah E. Martin of Elkins Park, PA; Dennis S. Martin husband of Hilary S. Martin of Richmond, VA, and her six grandchildren Erik, Jared, Max, Laura, Emma, Rachel and Lia, plus her five great grandchildren Clay, Isidora, Henry, Charlotte and Oliver.

Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
