Harold J. Lee

Harold J. Lee, 93, of Reading, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023, at the Reading Hospital. He was the loving husband of Katherine L. Lee (Young) for over 73 years of marriage. Born in Reading, Harold was the son of the late John J. Lee and Edith E. (Hiester). Harold was a graduate of Reading High School and went on to serve in the United States Air Force. He later went on to work as a Mining Engineer for Bethlehem Steel, Halecrest Corp., Warner Co., Eastern Industries, and at Graymont of PA. He was a member of Grace Bible Fellowship Church, and spent much time Volunteering at Teen Challenge.  He most loved spending time with his wife and family, fishing, boating and vacations at the shore.  

In addition to his wife, Katherine, Harold is survived by his children, Sandra L. Bauer, widow of Charles, of Allentown, and Scott A. Lee, husband of Joan, of Bel Air MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Thomas, Matthew, Laura, Michelle, Patrick, Ryan, Adam, and his great grandchildren, Joseph, Emma, Jackson, and Liam. Harold is survived by his sisters, Mary Jane Muthard, and Virginia Meyer. 

Predeceasing Harold is his son, Michael D. Lee, and siblings, Dorothy Wetzel, Mildred Forehand, Naomi Bailey, Edna Hottel, Lenora Ettinger, Robert E. Lee, and Richard H. Lee. 

Funeral Service for Harold will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at 1:00 PM in Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring. Pastor Randy Grossman to officiate. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends in Bean Funeral Home, Sinking Spring, on Thursday from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Harold’s honor to Grace Bible Fellowship Church, 1128 Hampden Blvd, Reading, PA 19604 or Teen Challenge, 33 Teen Challenge Rd, Rehrersburg, PA 19550.
