Helen J. Dick, 75, of Sinking Spring, passed away September 2, 2008 at 3:34 a.m. at home.

Born November 29, 1932 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Morwood) Cunningham.

At a young age, the family moved back to Scotland, but later returned to Toronto, where she met her husband of 55 years, George W. Dick Sr. Mr. Dick was the chief scientist for AT & T in developing and obtaining a patent for the first Color Plasma Panel.

She enjoyed sailing with her husband in the New York/New Jersey area.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Dick), wife of James Behrens of Lebanon, NJ; sons: George D. Dick, husband of Carol Dick of Wyomissing, and Gordon J. Dick of High Bridge, NJ; grandchildren: Adam, Dana, Jason, and Rachel; and a sister: Josephine (Cunningham) Yrjola, of Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

Services from the Bean Funeral Homes, 3825 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. David A. Lawton officiating. Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery. Friends will be received Friday from 6 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605.
