Helene Haas

Helene Haas, 96, of Reading, passed away May 23, 2011 at 10:15 PM in Kutztown Manor where she resided since March 17th. Born in Heidekrug, East Prussia on December 30, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Hermann and Martha (Paap) Bethke.

Helene was employed as a food prep cook by the Alpenhof Restaurant and later The Sheraton in Reading until retiring in 1976. She was a member of the Reading Congregation of the New Apostolic Church.

Surviving are two sons Werner G. Kuehlmann, husband of Sandra L. of Southampton, PA and Gerhard Barsuhn, husband of Diane of Sassamansville, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
