Hilda A. Kercher

Hilda A. Kercher, 92, of Alsace Township, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, in her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert J. Kercher, who passed away on February 23, 2020. Together they shared 71 years of marriage. Born on October 24, 1930, in Reading, she was the daughter of the late R. Earl and Emma R. (Sandridge) Daughtry. Hilda was a graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Class of 1948. She was a Deacon at the Wyomissing Church of the Brethern. Hilda also enjoyed birdwatching. 

She is survived by her son, Craig A. Kercher, husband of Peggy J. Kercher, of Alsace Township; daughter, Kim M. Schwambach, wife of John Schwambach, of Temple; 4 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; and brothers, Rev. James E. Daughtry, of Arizona; and Rommie A. Daughtry of Reading.

Funeral Service will be held at Wyomissing Church of the Brethren 2200 State Hill Road Wyomissing, PA 19610 on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 9:30am-11:00am. Bean Funeral Homes, Hampden Heights is in charge of the arrangements.
