Howard “Butch” S. Schell, 69, of Laureldale, passed away on Tuesday, December 21 2021 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center after a brief illness. Born May 7, 1952, in Reading, he was the son of the late Pearl Schell.
Butch was predeceased by his wife Nancy (Swoyer) who he greatly missed after she passed on February 28, 2020. He is survived by two loving daughters, Jenny Neuheimer, wife of Eric, of Muhlenberg Township and Kristen L. Delle Donne, wife of Matthew, of Pennside. Butch is also survived by his four grandchildren, Ryan, Owen, and Emma, Teagan, who were the lights & loves of his life. Butch will be enormously missed by his brother, Denny, and his nieces and nephews. Butch is also survived by his brother Ronald.
Butch lived a lifetime of friendship and love, everywhere we went he was sure to run into someone he knew. He was always willing to drop what he was doing to help a friend or family member, no matter their need. Butch was the embodiment of “to give the shirt off his back”, rightfully earning the family title of “Saint Butch”. Butch was last employed by Surgical Specialties as a Traveling Consultant for their Mexico plant, before retiring in 2018. His happiness came from his family, and the time spent together. Butch loved family get togethers, trips to Vic’s sandwich Shop in Absecon, NJ for sub runs, and any time he spent with Ryan, Owen, Emma, Teagan, sharing stories of the past and rooting on the Steelers. There are no words to describe the loss of Butch.
