Ilie Recalo, Sr.

Ilie Recalo, Sr., 72, of Lower Heidelberg Township, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023 at 6:18 am at Fox Chase Jeanes Campus at Temple University.  He was the husband of Matrona Recalo.  Born in Romania, Mr. Recalo was the son of the late Ilie and Ana (Clipei) Recalo.  He was a strong believer in freedom that is why he risked his life in 1984 when he fled Romania to come to the USA.  His greatest desire was that his children, grandchildren & family may live in a country where they’re not oppressed for believing in Jesus Christ & have the freedoms to express their opinions. He was a member of Bethany Romanian Church of God and was employed by Boyertown Foundry as a mechanic and steel fabricator.  In addition to his wife Mr. Recalo is survived by his children Ilie Recalo, Jr. husband of Florica Recalo of Georgia; Stefan Recalo husband of Hafia Recalo with whom he last resided; John Recalo husband of Irina Recalo of Georgia; Ana Popovici wife of Petru Popovici of Reading; Mariana Beuca wife of Dumitru Beuca of Wernersville and his 14 grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings Vasile, Dumitru, Ana, Stefan.

Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm.  An additional Visitation and Funeral Service will be held at Bethany Romanian Church of God 409 Oak Grove Road, Reading, Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Interment will take place at Laureldale Cemetery, Monday, July 3, 2023 at 10:00 am.
