Janet M. Wagner, 86, of Kenhorst, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late David W. Wagner, who passed away on May 27, 2015. Together they shared 58 years of marriage. Janet was a graduate of the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1957. She served Reading Hospital upon graduation and worked her way to be the head nurse on the maternity ward before leaving in 1975 to raise her family.  After raising her family, she worked for Dr. John Gallen until her retirement in 1999.  She was a member and a Stephen Minister at Calvary United Methodist Church in Mohnton. Janet loved sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Janet was also active in scouting and was the District Training Chair for the Daniel Boone District in the 1980’s and received the District Award of Merit for her service. She is survived by her son Mark D. Wagner, husband of Denise K. Wagner, of Oley; 4 grandchildren, Bryan, Joshua, Katelyn, and Luke; brother David “Butch” Wagner, of Muhlenberg, and sister Linda Zuy, of Reading, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial

 

Service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church 1 W Wyomissing Ave. Mohnton, PA 19540 Saturday, August 26 at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mission Fund of Calvary United Methodist Church, or Hawk Mountain Council, BSA.  Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com
