It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Lynn Trait, age 66, of Wernersville, Pennsylvania, who departed this life on Wednesday, July 29, 2026. He was born on August 10, 1959, in West Virginia, to Aaron and Frances (Dudash) Trait. Jeff was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Jeff served proudly in the United States Marine Corps where he received a GCM 1st Award and Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge. He was with the 2nd Anglico Airborne Division. Jeff worked with honor and dedication as a corrections officer at SCI Mahoney for over 20 years before his retirement. He was known for his steadfast commitment to his work, as well as his unwavering support for his family. 

Survived by his beloved wife who had been with for a total of 31 years, Sandi Y. Trait, Jeff is also survived by his son, Samuel A. Trait, and his cherished granddaughter, Violett Fogharty. A true lover of racing, Jeff’s passion for the sport ignited during his early years at the Reading Fairgrounds and blossomed into a lifelong fandom of NASCAR. He also found joy in music and treasured the moments spent with his family, always present to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. 

In honor of Jeffrey’s life, a Graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 10:00am at Pleasant View Cemetery 650 Fritztown Rd, Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Amy S.
