Joan A. Secoges

Joan A. Secoges passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026 at Berks Heim where she resided for just over 2 years. 

Born on July 8, 1941, in Reading, PA to John Sacco and Mamie F. (Chernich) Sacco. As a teenager, she was also raised by her step-father John F. Stengel. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1960. 

She was married to Charles J. Secoges, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2024. Together, they shared almost 57 years of marriage.

Joan was also preceded in death by her brother, John A. Sacco, and her step-brothers John G. Stengel and Carl H. Stengel, as well as her step-sisters Ann Peffley and Patricia J. Vath.

Joan was a woman of great warmth and kindness, known for her loving nature and her adoration for her pet cats and birds. She also enjoyed gardening, where she was often found tending to her roses.

She is survived by her sons, Charles J. Secoges, Jr. of Reading, PA and John A. Secoges husband of Judi C. (Bednar) of Sinking Spring, PA and a grandson, Joshua N. Secoges, whom she loved beyond words. She is also survived by her three nieces Christine Sacco-Bene (Columbia, SC), Patricia Sacco-Ensor (Roanoke, VA) and Anne Nichols (Roanoke, VA) and great niece and nephews.

Her life will be celebrated with a private graveside service held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.
