John A. McGinn

John A. McGinn, 72, of Shillington, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023 at 7:42 p.m. in the residence of his sister, Margaret Westley, of Robeson Township. Born in Danville, PA, Mr. McGinn was the son of the late John J. and Eleanor M. (Olcheskie) McGinn. He proudly served in the United States Naval Reserves from 1969 to 1975 and was a member of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington. Mr. McGinn was employed for many years in the Parts Department at Fred Beans Ford of Boyertown. He was an avid train enthusiast, enjoyed gardening and bird watching, and loved a good polka every now and then. His favorite shows were comedies and he had a one-of-a-kind laugh. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Mr. McGinn is survived by his sister, Margaret Westley, wife of William G. Westley; his niece, Jessica Shuman, wife of Shawn Shuman; his niece, Stacey Katrinak, wife of Justin Katrinak; and his grandniece, Fayth, and grandnephews, Jack, Brady, Noah, and Eli.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Kerrick and Mitti Roads, Shillington, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Edward J. Essig, Celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Navy Honor Guard will follow at the Chapel of Resurrection at Gethsemane Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, 129 East Lancaster Ave., Shillington Monday, June 19, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Floral tributes will be appreciated or contributions may be made to Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, 420 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607 in memory of Mr. John A.
