John M. Sobus

John M. Sobus, 82, of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, passed away surrounded by loved ones at Reading Hospital on Sunday, August 3, 2025. He was the devoted husband of Regina C. (Deacon) Sobus, with whom he shared nearly 58 years of marriage, having celebrated their milestone anniversary in October.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late James and Loretta (Mannion) Sobus. A veteran, John served in the United States Army. He retired from Agere Systems after 38 years of service. John enjoyed walking his dogs, hiking, and taking caring of his lawn. A sports enthusiast, particularly to football, he was a passionate supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles. A devoted grandfather, nothing made him smile more than time with his granddaughters, who meant the world to him.

John is survived by his wife Regina C. Sobus, of Mohnton; daughter, Laurie M. Herb, wife of Jeffrey Herb, of Wyomissing; son, Michael J. Sobus, of Mohnton; daughter, Jennifer Ingraham, of Mohnton; granddaughters, Julia P. Herb and Brooke E. Herb; and his brother, Casimir Sobus, of Maryland. He was predeceased by his brother James Sobus.
