Joseph Francis Brennan

Joseph Francis Brennan, 94, of Shillington, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Elsie G. (Parker) Brennan, who passed away on July 25, 2014. Together they shared 44 years of marriage. Born on July 4, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Anna (Szastynska) Brennan. He served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Joseph worked for many years as a Postal Carrier for the US Postal Service. He went on to owning his own Construction Business, building many beautiful homes, until retiring in 1989.

Joseph enjoyed watching horse races, attending the Col. Jacob Morgen Post 537 American Legion, Kenhorst Fire Co. Social Quarters, and Reading Sokol Club. He also loved thrift shopping especially going to BB’s Grocery Outlet.

He is survived by his daughters, Eva Marie Sterley, wife of Thomas, of Sinking Spring; Anne B. Welch, wife of Charles, of Phillipsburg, PA; Mary C. Ricciutti, wife of Michael, of Shillington; Barbara J. Childers, widow of Kevin, of Shillington; 6 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. 

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery 60 Indiantown Gap Rd, Annville, PA 17003 on Friday, July 5, 2024 at 12:30pm. Online condolences may be made to www.beanfuneralhomes.com.
