Joseph G. Danver, Jr.

Joseph G. Danver, Jr., 79, of East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at 3:30 am in his residence surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Linda A. (Zacharias) Danver, with whom he shared a beautiful and fulfilling life.  

Joseph was born in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Joseph G. Danver, Sr. and Margaret (Gulish) Danver.  He was a man of deep faith and was dedicated member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. Joseph was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4191 in Ephrata, where he found joy serving his community.   His love for the Pittsburgh Steelers was unwavering, and he cheered passionately for his favorite team.

Education was a cornerstone of Joseph’s life, and he achieved his Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Alvernia University. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves, demonstrating his commitment to duty and honor.  

For 35 years, Joseph worked as a Senior Operator at AT&T, Agere and Lucent Technologies, where his dedication and expertise were highly valued. Upon his retirement, he continued to contribute to the field of education as a substitute teacher for the Wilson School District, sharing his knowledge and inspiring countless students.  

Joseph’s legacy extends beyond his professional accomplishments.  He was a devoted and loving father to his children Melissa A. Arthur, wife of Christopher M. Arthur, of Sinking Spring, and Joseph W. Danver, husband of Danielle L. Danver, of Sinking Spring. His grandchildren, Mikayla, Zachary, Travis, and Ethan brought immense joy to his life. He also leaves behind his sisters, Kathy Roehn of Pittsburgh and Margie Laverty of Denver, Colorado.

A Mass of Christian Burial, celebrating Joseph’s remarkable life, will be held at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church located at 2600 St. Alban’s Drive, West Lawn, on Friday, January 26, 2024 at 11:00 am.   Reverend George Osei Ababio will serve as the Celebrant, honoring Joseph’s deep faith and devotion.  Following the Mass, there will be an entombment with Military Honors rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard at the Garden Mausoleum at Gethsemane Cemetery.   

The Family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home, 3825 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Mr. Joseph G.
