Joseph Schlamowitz

Joseph Schlamowitz, 91, of Reading, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 4:48 am in his residence. He was the husband of Theresa H. (Calotta) Schlamowitz. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Schlamowitz was the son of the late Sol and Pauline (Kornet) Schlamowitz. He served in the United States Army National Guard and was employed by New York City Transit Authority as a signal maintainer. In addition to his wife, Mr. Schlamowitz is survived by his children Charlotte Doyle of Douglassville; Audrey Oliva of Douglassville; Karen Wells of Scottdale, Pennsylvania; Joseph Schlamowitz husband of Olga Cruz of Exeter Township; Richard Schlamowitz husband of Iveth Schlamowitz of Shillington; step-daughter Erika Thorne at home and step-son Damaine Thorne of Reading and his 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Harold Schlamowitz of Philadelphia and his sister Barbara Goldberg of Alburquerque, New Mexico.
