Joyce M. Abramowicz

Joyce M. Abramowicz, 89, a long-time resident of Pennside and later Exeter Township, died Monday, Dec. 1 in Keystone Villa, Douglassville, where she had resided since late August. She was the widow of William E. Abramowicz who died in 2023. They had been married for 66 years.Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Elfrieda (Holtz) Long.Joyce was pre-deceased by her twin sister, Joan Kramer, who died in 2018.She was a 1954 graduate of the former Mount Penn High School, Mt. Penn, PA.Joyce was a member of St. Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, Exeter Township. She was renowned for her baking skills, especially her cinnamon buns, apple pies, homemade bread and Christmas cookies. She retired after working several years in the Mount Penn Borough Municipal Authority office.She is survived by her five children: Mark, husband of Suzanna (Miller) Abramowicz, Pennside; Anne, wife of Dr. Craig Hurtt, Chester Springs; Mary Bowers, Reading; Jan, Philadelphia; and Jeanne, wife of Brock DeSantis, San Diego. Seven grandchildren: Josh, Amy, Jonathan, Jordan, Christopher, Justin, and Andrew; one great-grandchild, James. Also, several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, 4975 Boyertown Pike, Exeter Township, Thursday December 11, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Brian M. Miller will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Catharine of Siena Roman Catholic Church from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Joyce M.
