Joyce Gapinski

Joyce E. Gapinski, 67, formerly of Reading, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at 6:40 p.m. at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where she had been a patient for a day.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late James "Jim" C. Prodromos and Florence F. (Friday) Prodromos, and widow of the late Joseph J. Gapinski, who passed away on July 10, 2006.

She last worked as a secretary for the former Van Wagonen Insurance Co. in Wyomissing for 5 years, and was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.

She loved to cook, specializing in Greek and Polish delicacies.

She is survived by her son: John J. Gapinski, husband of Heather M. Gapinski of Denver, and a daughter: Lisa A. (Gapinski), wife of John Baxewanis of Sinking Spring.

There are also four grandchildren: Kendal, Hannah, Zoe, and Olivia.

She is also survived by her brother; Gregory J. Prodromos, husband of Lynn Prodromos of Kentucky, and family Nikki and Jamie.

She is also survived by her loving West Highland Terrier, Maggie.

She was pre deceased by a sister: Christine F. (Prodromos) Lesher.
