Judith Ann Gombar, 90, of Exeter Township, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Eugene L. Gombar who passed away in 2005 and together they shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Reading, Mrs. Gombar was the daughter of the late Paul Joel Adams and Grace Lottie (Flammer) Adams. She was a member of Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church. Since 2016 she was happily employed by Carlino Capital Management, retiring November 6, 2020. Prior to that she felt blessed to be employed for Carlino Development Group for 16 years. Through the years her family resided in Eden Manor, Lancaster County, Colonial Park in Harrisburg and in Reading where she and her husband opened Reading’s first fitness facility, Nautilus Physical Training Center in Mount Penn. After the sale of the facility, she and her husband moved to Apollo Beach, Florida where she was employed by South Hillsborough Community Bank, Snyder Financial Group and Platinum Bank in Brandon, Florida. Mrs. Gombar is survived by her sons David Michael Gombar (companion of Christine Scerbo-Jesiolowski) of Exeter Township and Steven Paul Gombar husband of Nancy Formiconi-Gombar of Exeter Township and her 7 grandchildren (Melanie, Chrissy, Todd, Erik, Jessica, Alyssa, Laura, and Jordan-step), 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. She is also survived by her sister Janie Adams of Reading. Mrs. Gombar was preceded in death by her sister Gayle Saylor and close friend of many years, William E. Boyer, Jr. in 2017 following 12 years of companionship. Judy was a bright light in the lives of many, a loyal friend, a devoted mother, and a selfless individual who lived life to the fullest.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church 2600 St. Alban’s Drive, Sinking Spring, Monday, May 12, 2025 at 11:30 am. Reverend Thomas P. Bortz, Celebrant. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Saint George at Gethsemane Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Saint Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Monday from 10:30 am to 11:15 am. Bean Funeral Home, 6 Fairlane Road, Exeter Township is in charge of arrangements and online condolences may be made at www.beanfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flower contributions can be made to the Shriners Children Memorial Fund.
