Katharina Skorupsky, 99, of Kenhorst, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026, just 22 days shy of her 100 birthday.
She was the beloved wife of the late Roman Skorupsky. They emigrated to the United States in 1951. She shared over 47 years of marriage with Roman. She then found happiness again for many years with her companion, Harvey Troutman.
Born March 2, 1926 in Walzach, Upper Bavaria, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Jakob and Anna Unterhuber.
In addition to being a homemaker, she had also been previously employed by Ship ‘n Shore of Reading as a collar setter for many years and at The Alpenhoff Restaurant before retiring.
Katharina was a Parishioner of Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, in Shillington.
She will always be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother “Oma” and great-grandmother “Omi”.
Katharina is survived by her children: Margit, wife of Robert Patterson, of Houston, Texas, and Irene Maurer, widow of Michael Maurer, of Sinking Spring. Grandchildren: Jay Patterson, husband of Mindy, Amanda Murphy, wife of Evan, and Matthew Maurer. Great grandchildren: Tyler Patterson, Michaela, Anna, Elliott and Mason. She will also be missed by Casey Maurer and Izzy, and her many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her sisters, Rita, wife of Horst Schneider, and Hilde Freutsmiedl.
Her seven siblings in Germany predeceased her.
Funeral Procession will depart Bean Funeral Home 129 East Lancaster Ave. Shillington, Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church Kerrick & Mitti Roads, Shillington, at 11:00 am. Reverend Edward J. Essig, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Church Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends at Bean Funeral Home Thursday from 9:15 am to 10:15 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to LaSalle Academy 440 Holland Street, Shillington, PA 19607 in memory of Mrs. Katharina Skorupsky.
